The development of 2a Church Square will enable Taunton Vineyard to develop a unique compassion and community centre in the heart of Taunton. A place open to all, which is able to meet many needs or to signpost people to other agencies inTaunton.

The proposal provides a high quality strategic development and supporting infrastructure which forms an important contemporary landmark building alongside a major pedestrian route, providing an attractive and valuable contribution to the Taunton Town Centre area as a whole.

The proposal sympathetically opens up the historic courtyard and archways which formed part of the coach house yard area, enabling public access to a heritage asset.

Job alert: Architect and Technologist in Bridgwater, Somerset

We are currently offering a position for an ARB registered Architect who is also conservation qualified through either the RIBA or AABC.

We are also offering a position for an Architectural Technician or Technologist with at least 3-5 years’ experience.

Both positions would be based in Bridgwater at a well-established practice, with the prospect of becoming senior leaders as well as the option of part-time distance working.

Candidates must be UK resident and available to start by September 2018.

We have had a week with excellent planning results. Here they are!

Since last thursday many our much valued clients have received planning permission for the following projects:

1. In Wimbledon - A development of 2 new flats on an existing block at the planning committee 

2. In Wimbledon - Discharge of 8 pre-construction conditions

3. In Croydon - Approval for change of use from office to residential with a rear extension, resulting in 4 new flats with amenities

4. In Westminster - Permission for external alterations to Lanchester Court resulting in an eyecatching new building entrance and refurbishment

5. In Wimbledon - Approval for a front extension to a beautiful detached period home

Planning permission for conversion of a listed building in Taunton

We are delighted with a positive outcome for the planning application for the conversion of a listed commercial building to residential use.

The scheme will provide 8 new modern flats of a high standard and have a project value of approximately £2m.  We are grateful for a very proficient professional team and the positive approach taken by Taunton Dean Borough Council.

We are very proud of our Taunton team who has provided a great design for the new church building and are now making progress with the planning stage.

Our design and build client Brylane Construction completed these new apartments on time to a great standard.  Ascribe Management Services lead the project from inception to completion delivering an significantly improved asset to the owner, ready for market.

construction started on extension of Elphicks of Farnham

For the past year we have worked closely with the brilliant management team of Elphicks Department Store to expand and upgrade their building, thereby playing a small role in securing the future success of the store in Farnham.

Our role has entailed the development of the business brief and the subsequent procurement processes which included planning applications within a conservation area, working with a listed building and management of the M&E and internal retail design and tender processes.

The proposed extension will enable Elphicks to move their bed store to their premises as well as expand and change their current merchandise.  

Part of the brief is the renewal of redundant mechanical services of the building which will reduce the CO2 production of the building services drastically. The replaced system will serve the store with greater efficiency.

planning permission for 8 new flats

Great news!  

We have received planning permission for a scheme which will provide 8 new up market flats within Wandsworth and improve the existing 30 year old block of flats.

We are very grateful for this opportunity to work with BestGapp and the assistance we have received from the planning officers at Wandsworth BC.

Severn Drive complete

Our latest house alteration project has now finally been fitted with its front doors and the project as a whole is looking very good thanks to our clients great taste and labour over the finishes as well as the skillful team of Brylane Construction who did the work.
